The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated individual who is seeking a career in science and engineering. The Research & Development Intern will work alongside our Process Engineer and Chemist on a variety of projects. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and enjoy collecting/analyzing data to report on results.
Responsibilities:
The selected intern will work with water-based ink chemistry and ink formulation along with color measurement tools. You will learn how to test incoming materials for quality assurance; develop test data documentation and update the ink database. This position requires data collection, analysis, and reporting of results. You will learn how to maintain and operate standard and custom laboratory equipment. In this position, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Process and Research & Development teams on new equipment setup and Standard Operating Procedures.
Requirements
- Working towards a degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other Engineering/physical sciences.
- Hands-on experience in a wet laboratory through college.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Compensation and Applicant Instructions
$17.00 per hour, flexible schedule to be discussed at interview, maximum 29 hours per week. Example of schedule: Monday – Wednesday with a half-day Thursday to allow for a long weekend.
