The Opportunity 

Our internship program is ideal for students with an interest in Entrepreneurship, starting/running a company, and/or a career in Sales. Our small, dedicated team works hard while having fun. We invite students 18+ to join us for a chance to be a well paid “kid-in-a-candy-shop” while learning what it really takes to own a business.

Interns are paired with a Team Member and/or the Owner to learn-the-ropes while simultaneously learning business culture, approach to customer service, and suggestive vs. aggressive selling techniques. 

Each intern gains proficiency in 2-4 key areas during on-boarding. The specific areas are determined by student objectives and skills. Past interns have mastered customer service, inventory management, display/store design and marketing during phase one. 

During the second phase interns will learn how to run a growing small business while “peeking behind the curtain.”  Wear the many hats a business owner wears. Interns will learn the art of handling challenging customers, developing vendor relationships to ensure deliveries in the face of supply chain disruptions, and setting appropriate pricing in an uncertain economy.

In the final phase each intern or group of interns brainstorms and develops projects which could positively impact the business or business community. 

Qualifications 

The ideal intern will be majoring in Business, Marketing, Sales, Entrepreneurship, or a similar subject. A special interest in small business ownership and local economics is a plus. We genuinely seek a diverse staff and encourage applications regardless of academic major.

We are seeking a candidate who is a great communicator and team player.  We are looking for a non-smoker who is able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for a full shift. Due to our work with guests who are very young or are seniors, we require interns to be current on Covid Vaccines.

Compensation and Application 

The summer internship will run for 10 weeks from early June through August. 

Our compensation is designed to provide a generous package. Interns can earn an hourly wage in excess of $20/hr after training. We offer a performance bonus (and lots of free candy!) Hours per week range from 20-40 hours depending on each intern’s schedule and goals. Note: We typically open at 10 and close by 7. This is a great job for candidates who like to sleep in- No early mornings or late nights!

All interns must pass a background check and be up to date with all Covid and other vaccines.
