The Company

Unistress Corporation specializes in the design, production, and construction of large scale precast/prestressed concrete structures. Unistress is a subsidiary of Petricca Industries, founded in 1968 by the Petricca family. Our manufacturing plant in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, is located halfway between New York and Boston, serving all of New England and the tri-state New York metro area.

Unistress products can be found in structures as varied as major highway bridges, power plant cooling towers, railway stations, micro-chip manufacturing plants, stadiums, retail and industrial buildings, casinos, and multi-level parking facilities. Our plant has been certified for over 45 years under the Precast/Prestressed Concrete (PCI) Plant Certification Program.

 

The Opportunity

Unistress is seeking an Assistant Project Coordinator to assist the Project Coordinator with all steps of project development including: communications between various departments, contractors, and clientele; interpreting contract documents; and coordinating the over-all design of new precast projects. This may include but is not limited to overseeing D&E subcontractors in preparation of clear and accurate erection, production and hardware drawings; design revisions; project tracking and completion.

This position works closely with the Project Coordinator, Client, Project Design Team(s) (internal and external), Subcontractors and Production Personnel.

 

Qualifications

The ideal intern will be working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural or Construction Engineering or related field.

Must be comfortable working in a self-directed environment with an ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment. Must be able to demonstrate sound technical knowledge and a broad understanding of materials and precast/prestressed production processes.

Must be proficient in ACAD, with knowledge in the use of MS Excel, Word, Project Scheduler, and other applicable tools. Experience with 3D modeling software would be a compelling competitive advantage.

 

Compensation and Application

The internship will run a full 10 weeks from June 6 to August 12, 2022. The intern will be required to work 40 hours per week and will be compensated $14.25/hour.
